Hip Replacement Pain Claim

In August 2010, DePuy hip implants were recalled based on data that indicated many patients were requiring a second surgery or revision surgery after receiving a DePuy hip implant. Since then, the DePuy ASR XL Acetabular System and the ASR Hip Resurfacing System are no longer. DePuy has agreed to compensate patients who had surgery to replace their ASR Hip implant, with a settlement valued at approximately $2.5 billion dollars. In the past year, many plaintiffs have filed lawsuits seeking justice for the decline in quality of life they have suffered as a result of the failures and dangerous side effects of DePuy hip implants. On March 11, 2013, a Los Angeles state court jury awarded one plaintiff $8.3 million dollars for pain and suffering and expenses.
